Monday Cellar Night- Jean Foillard Mini Horizontal tasting
Jean and Agnes Foillard took over his father’s estate in 1980, and quickly made a name for themselves by abandoning chemicals in the vineyard, relying on healthy soils, meticulous sorting, and low intervention winemaking to craft wines that were bright, drinkable and intriguing, but with incredible liveliness, complexity and ageability. An absolute legend for lovers of both natural and classic French wines, Jean was part of the original ‘Gang of four’ producers in beaujolais that spawned the term natural wine and helped put famed importer Kermit Lynch on the map. While both wines possess the trademark silky texture and delicate complexity of all Foillard’s wines, tasting them side by side will hopefully serve to highlight and contrast the famed savory notes and structure of Cote de Py and the more heady and complex floral aromatics of Corcelette.
