Meet other Esters Wine Club members to pick up your wine (if it’s not being shipped) and enjoy a special bottle opened up that night, along with light snacks. Owner and RC Family Wine Director Kathryn Coker will share the stories behind this month’s featured winemakers in the club.

Sunday Tasting – Women Winemakers


This Sunday, we’re celebrating some incredible women who make wine. As a female-led small business, we love regularly supporting female winemakers in our shop by selling their wines and telling their stories.

Our tastings are casual, so drop by anytime within the three-hour window, and our staff will guide you through a flight. Find a favorite or two? We offer 10% off retail in that day’s line-up.

Guest Chef Burger Night

Craig Thornton, chef and founder behind the innovative and underground Wolvesmouth dinners is this month’s Guest Chef for our Burger Series. Craig is known for creating pop-ups that combine themed multi-course meals with art installations, often looking to nature for inspiration. He’s collaborated with MOCA and local artists to create truly unique and groundbreaking dining experiences.  According to the Los Angeles Times, “Thornton likens his meals to works in which he paints with colors and with taste.”  What will Craig’s burger consist of? Well, just like the sense of surprise guests experience at a Wolvesmouth event, Esters fans will just have to come in this night to see and taste for themselves.

Guest Chef Burger Night

For this month’s Guest Chef Burger Night, Hinoki & The Bird’s Brandon Kida brings a Japanese bar snack to life with his Okonomiyaki Burger. What’s okonomiyaki, you ask? It’s a savory pancake made with grated yams, cabbage and eggs (similar in texture to latkes), and topped with a variety of toppings like green onions, cheese, meats, seafood, veggies and sauces. It’s most often found in amongst Osaka’s drinking dens, but can be enjoyed all over the country. Brandon’s double patty beef burger comes with sharp cheddar, pickled peppers, tomatoes and bonito mayo on a honey potato bun.

This month’s Guest Chef for our Burger Night is Nancy Silverton, acclaimed restaurateur, chef and cookbook author behind Mozza Restaurant Group, which includes Pizzeria Mozza, Osteria Mozza, Mozza2Go and Chi Spacca. In 2014, Nancy received the highest honor by the James Beard Foundation for “Outstanding Chef,” as well as one of the “Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink” by Fortune and Food & Wine. She’s been a leading force on the Los Angeles dining scene for decades and has mentored countless chefs, bakers and restaurateurs along the way. Nancy also appeared in a delightful and memorable episode on Netflix’s 2017 season of “Chef’s Table.”
