Monday Cellar Night

David Moreau, Santenay 1er cru ‘Clos des Mouches’, Bourgogne, France, 2018 $28

Tasting: Delicate red berries and violets on the nose carry through the minerally palate with fine, silky tannins. Light, earthy, and pretty.

Story: David Moreau is a young winemaker to watch. Initially leaving his family’s domaine after graduating oenology school to work with other winemakers in Burgundy (including the amazing Hubert Lamy) David took over upon his grandfather’s retirement on the condition that he be able to do everything his way- which is great news for wine lovers as his organic practices in the vineyard and patient and studious approach in the cellar are yielding wonderful, pure and thoughtful wines from these historic and charming vineyards at the southern tip of the cote d’or.
