TASTINGS AT ESTERS
What's Upcoming At Esters
Sunday Tasting – France Meets California
Sentiments on both sides of the pond have come a long way since 1976’s Judgment of Paris, when a California Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay beat out French wines in a blind-tasting. This Sunday, we’re celebrating some of our favorite wines from France, as well as French-style wines made in California. Everyone wins! Vive la France et Californie!
The line-up includes:
- Mathieu Cosme ‘La Bulle du Facteur’ Vouvray Pétillant, Loire Valley NV
- Caleb Leisure Wines ‘Verso’, Yorkville Highlands, California 2017
- Site Wines ‘Stolpman Vineyard’ Roussanne, Ballard Canyon, California 2014
- Chateau Peyrassol ‘Commanderie’ Rosé, Côtes de Provence, France 2017
- Chateau de Villeneueve ‘Le Grand Clos’ Saumur-Champigny, France 2016
Wine Club Pick-Up Party
Meet other Esters Wine Club members to pick up your wine (if it’s not being shipped) and enjoy a special bottle opened up that night, along with light snacks. Owner and RC Family Wine Director Kathryn Coker will share the stories behind this month’s featured winemakers in the club.
If you’re not a member, join! We have three different levels to accommodate your budget and taste, whether you’re a Savvy Sipper, Adventurer or Collector!
Modern School of Flowers Workshop – Desert Terrariums
As part of local florist Krystal Chang’s recurring Modern School of Flowers Workshops, she’s bringing some desert vibes to Esters. In this hands-on class, create miniature desert worlds in a glass terrarium while drinking bubbly! Krystal is bringing a variety of cacti, succulents, air plants, stones and sand and encourages everyone to bring their favorite small rocks or shells. She’ll also guide each participant to consider color, balance and composition, and provide everyone with terrarium tools to bring home to care for your creation.
Limited spaces available, so RSVP via Krystal’s website. All sign-ups must be in advance to ensure we have the materials available for you!
Sunday Tasting – Australia!
Besides Hugh Jackman, there are other pretty amazing things to have come out of Australia…like wine! This Sunday, we’re exploring wines from the land down under.
Guest Chef Burger Night – Ari Taymor
6 p.m. until we sell out!
Wrapping up the Summer iteration of our Guest Chef Burger Series is award-winning chef Ari Taymor behind the newly opened Little Prince along Santa Monica’s Main Street. He’ll be doing his brunchtime Patty Melt on Clark Street sourdough, with an aged beef and bacon patty, brown butter béarnaise, aged cheddar, bread and butter pickles and arugula.
A little bit about Ari. His food is influenced by his commitment to supporting the farmers and ranchers of Southern California. Ari first made a splash on the LA dining scene when he opened alma in 2012, which garnered critical acclaim around the world. In 2013, it was named America’s Best New Restaurant by Bon Appétit, while Ari was named a 2014 Food & Wine Best New Chef and received a James Beard nomination as Rising Star Chef in 2014 and 2015. Alma shifted from it’s downtown location to a two-year residency at The Standard in West Hollywood from 2015-2017, before Ari opened Little Prince in May 2018.
