Calendar

It’s poppin’! There’s always something fun happening in our wine shop & bar, so you can explore new wines or learn a lil’ something.

Sunday Tastings are 12-9 p.m., with new themes every week, curated by Sommelier Randall Middleton.  Enjoy a flight for $25/person, which includes a mini cheese pairing and link to a video of our team telling stories about the wine.  Plus, enjoy 10% off in the shop for bottles featured in that day’s line-up.

Monday Cellar Nights are 4-10 p.m. and are a really cool way to try a glass of something rare or fancy from our high-end collection, without committing to the whole bottle. We’ve popped open luxurious Champagnes, baller Burgundies, small allocations from top California winemakers and more.

Read on for more details of our upcoming schedule. Want to be in the know? Sign up for our weekly e-blast (scroll down) or follow us on Instagram for future tasting announcements

Cellar Night- Cain Five 2006

Cellar Night- Cain Five 2006

Cain Vineyard, ‘Cain Five’, Spring Mountain District, California 2006 $50
Tonight we’re pouring a library release from an absolute California classic. Originally planted on top of Spring mountain on the site of the historic Mccormick Ranch in Napa Valley by Jerry and Joice Cain in the early 80s, since the early 90s the winemaking and farming have been overseen by Christopher Howell. He farms organically and strives to reflect the unique character of this special terroir and of each vintage. He uses native yeasts and a gentle manual press, and doesn’t have a strict formula for blending or maceration, working entirely according to taste from year to year. The five in Cain five refers to the five permitted red Bordeaux varietals which are all planted in the Estate Vineyard. With these five grapes Howell guides wines that are unmistakably Napa in the ripeness and complexity of their fruit, but a little bit of a throwback to more classic California winemaking- looking for finesse and expressiveness rather than power at all costs. The 2006m vintage is a wonderful example, with velvety soft tannins framing up a wine that shows off a complex array of herbs and foresty notes to complement the lush chocolate and dark fruit.
